PDL Club Falls Flat against Jersey Express in Elizabeth

ELIZABETH, NJ--The FA Euro PDL club falls to a Jersey Express team 2-0 in Elizabeth, NJ, who was "outplayed" in much of the match according to one of the midfielders for the Euro squad, who would like to not be named. who A game in which Charlie Ledula described the referees as "needing to be so much better" in a game that featured two professional squads.

 

A game that began with Euro controlling the possession for the first half 58% of the time, the second half was the same exact way at 59% of the time, yet the team could not finish. "We cannot finish, we are controlling the game, we have been, and we will continue to fight all the way till the end." Christian Camacho, captain of the PDL club said during the teams halftime.

 

A few fouls that should have been called according to the coaching staff of FA Euro, included one play where striker Charlie Ledula had a clear shot, that should've at least been called a foul. The passing by both teams were not nearly as close as some may have thought, where Euro passed accurately 84% of the time, as opposed to 68% in the opening half by Jersey Express. It did not get any better in the second half, where Jersey passed a tad better by accurately passing 123 balls to each other compared to 114 out of 170 total tries.

 

Our PDL club had a majority of the opportunities down the stretch, but the poor execution was no help as the Jersey Express squad defeated FA Euro 2-0 with two beautiful goals past (1) Brian McPartland from (9) Mamadou Guirassy. Mamadou was named Player of the Game last night.

 

FA Euro (1-1-0) takes on Ocean City Nor'Easters (2-0-0) on Thursday night for their home opener in Queens at Belson Stadium on the campus of St. John's University at 7:30pm. The game will be broadcast on the I-95 Sports and Entertainment Network. i95sportsnetwork.com and YouTube Live.
