Rodrigues, Igiehon Make Season Debut vs. Ocean City

BROOKLYN, NY--After the FA Euro New York PDL club got their second win of the season last Saturday, the PDL club went in to Wednesday's matchup versus the Jersey Express with high hopes of their third win of the season. That did not turn out as planned, what so ever. The PDL club were defeated on their home turf 5-0 in a match that most likely would have decided their minimum playoff hopes.

The PDL club will be traveling to Ocean City, NJ on Sunday for the final game of the two game series vs. the Nor'Easters. Last time around vs. Ocean City, it was the home opener for FA Euro. Our club was defeated 1-0 by a goal from Francisco Neto. Five players that played in the home opener, will all be inactive tomorrow. (Mauritzon, Issroff, Sillah, Wenaas, Camacho) The PDL club has been "crushed" with injuries within the last two matches, as Jesse Rodrigues has been called up from the Super Y League to make his PDL debut vs. Ocean City. Brandon Igiehon, from SUNY Potsdam, was supposed to make his debut against Lehigh Valley has become finally active via the leagues registry office.

(11) Rodrigues, from Archbishop Molloy High School, currently plays at NCAA's Siena College with fellow teammate and best friend Conor McGlynn and former Euro midfielder David Itoafa, as the two, most likely, will play together to bring the chemistry they have in NCAA play, to the PDL level. (22) Brandon Igiehon, currently is a 6'4" striker with long strides, who is a second team player at SUNY Potsdam, has started one game and played in 12 in his freshman season. Igiehon does not have a point yet in the collegiate level. Hopeful to receive his first one in South Jersey.

#ElCapitan Christian Camacho and Morten Wenaas were both issued red cards for their actions in the previous game versus Jersey Express. They will both be inactive this Sunday as per league regulations. Wenaas was issued an ejection card due to "abusive language toward an official". Camacho was issued an ejection card when he dragged Express's Harry Pearse on a breakaway that some said "could have been avoided".

Injury Update for FA Euro: Johan Mauritzon and Benji Issroff remain OUT with nagging hamstring injuries. Robi Sillah is OUT with an undisclosed ankle injury suffered outside of training with no timetable for a return. Zhurabek Khusanboev is OUT with a respiratory infection that has forced him to miss the last 3 days of practice. Morten Wenaas and Christian Camacho will not travel with the team on Sunday.
