Injuries Plague FA Euro at Lehigh Valley

Allentown, PA- The FA Euro PDL club (2-8-0) travels to northeastern Pennsylvania to go head to head against the Lehigh Valley United (3-6-1). This will be their second meeting between the two clubs as they played once in Jamaica, Queens, in a 3-2 victory for FA Euro. That victory for our PDL club was one of two victories on the season for them. On Sunday, they travel to Lehigh for the series finale between the two clubs.

Twelve days ago, was the last match for our PDL club, as we took on Reading United AC in a make up game on June 27th. A 4-1 loss at Belson Stadium was the tip of the ice berg for the club. Top defender Johan Mauritzon while sitting out with a hamstring injury spoke to Will Canova of I-95 Sports Network, "We are playing for our pride for the remainder of the season."

The FA Euro club has scored a total of six goals on the season, and have been considered one of the teams that are ranked in the bottom five in the country in goals scored. Scoring has been an issue for this club as they're goals against number is -24 on the season, where the ratio is -18 on the season, which ranks in the bottom half of the pack for the PDL. This club is in a transition period, where GM Joey Jarzynka said in the season preview press conference that 5 wins would be a successful season, and tonight, they would be on that road to his prediction being correct.

Injuries will continue to hurt this club as Tarek Beckles remains out with an ankle injury sustained in the previous Lehigh Valley matchup on June 17th. Robi Sillah is out for the season with a fractured ankle suffered in recreational soccer play. Nico Anderson will be a game time decision with an undisclosed personal issue. Johan Mauritzon's nagging hamstring issue is not fully healed yet as he suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain against this same club three weeks prior. Mauritzon has not played a game since. He is projected to return versus the New York Red Bulls U23 club in Whippany on Wednesday evening.
