PDL Club Suffers Fifth Straight Loss; Goal-Less Streak Extends

BROOKLYN, NY--The PDL club (1-5-0) suffered their fifth straight loss on Saturday as they played host to the New York Red Bulls U23 club (6-0-0) for the second game in a row. Euro has been outscored 5-0 in the last two games. But this game seems to be a turning point for the club in a "very" good way according to Executive Director, Marco Balsamo.

"We played really well the entire game, then two silly mistakes. It can't happen. I feel that our club looked a whole lot better, and we look to build on that moving forward."

FA Euro's PDL club played on their heels the entire 90 minutes, and played at the level, "they should've been playing at all season long" (Jarzynka, GM). Euro held Red Bulls scoreless for the first 81 minutes of the match until a bad turnover by Flaviano Fraschetti led to a goal short side for (14) Brian White, while Malcolm Dixon helped on the teams game winning goal. The PDL club gave the Red Bulls one of their biggest test this entire PDL season so far.

Euro played a full 90 minutes of hard play, that really did not get Head Coach Joe Balsamo livid, because it was a match, "that should've been won, or even a game that we drew". The Red Bulls second goal was scored by Jose Aginaga two minutes after the game winning goal was scored. A bad effort by the Euro club in the final ten minutes, but overall a very good match from some of the executives.

Defender Momodou Sawaneh returned as he got a standing ovation from the Belson Stadium crowd, as he logged a full 90 minutes in the teams loss. Sawaneh, who returned from knee surgery in the off season, has been and will continue to be a major addition for this club moving forward in their race towards the organization's first possible playoff berth.

Forward Jason Lampkin was active in his return after missing two games with a knee injury, but did not play in the 2-0 shutout loss. Alexis Santa remained out as he is recovering from a knee injury as well.

The club will try to rebound next weekend vs. Lehigh Valley United next Saturday (6/17) at Belson Stadium on the campus of St. John's University at 7:30pm. Admission into stadium is FREE. If you can't make the game, the game will be broadcasted on FA Euro's official TV home, I-95 Sports Network. i95sportsnetwork.com
